2009? Call Me Flipper!

If like me you’ve been goal-setting for 2009, or at least deciding in which direction your internet money making ventures are going to go, I reckon you might be ruling out some of the ‘Get Rich Quick’ stuff that we all, no matter how smart we are, succumb to once in a while.

By all means haveĀ  a play with the latest ‘Loophole’ ( or similar) ideas but have a solid money earning base that pays the rent and the grocery bill before shelling out the money is my advice and my resolution…

No harm in ‘playing’ with an idea as long as we are not relying on it as our main source of income but, let’s face it, I think we all realize we need to knuckle down to stuff that WORKS in 2009 and not get too tied up in theories.

I admit I am way too easily side-tracked when it comes to making money online ideas and, yes, like everyone else I do experiment with the latest fads and newest must have e-book. I won’t pretend I won’t still be doing that in 2009! [ But definitely to a lesser extent! ]

So I guess my point here is that I will be focusing on one or two of my proven money earners that I have working already, and try to increase their revenue using all the new stuff I learned in 2008. Sites that aren’t working will be sold on and I’ll be DE-listing myself from many an internet Guru’s newsletter. My next post will offer tips on this and, hopefully, piss off a few so called Gurus…

That said I’m very excited about blog and site flipping having just read ( and watched) a fantastic guide on how to make regular big bucks by ‘flipping’ web sites. I’ll be posting more details on this tomorrow ( and also be mentioning the total RIP OFF ebook that I just got a refund for from ClickBank – man, I hate a-holes that try and sell stuff when it’s obvious they haven’t actually been successful at it themselves). All style and NO substance – watch this space! I might actually be the only marketing web site that suggests you NOT buy something!

Confused? I was! I’ll compare the 2 products tomorrow and all will become clear.

Also what I thought might be fun would be for me to start a ‘flip’ from scratch and take you through the whole process – nothing held back, anyone up for that? I’m setting it up as I speak…

  1. I look forward to your follow up on flippin.

What was the bad Clickbank item? Anyone seen a list of things from Clickbank that are not worth buying. I have been considering Viral Mini Sites but have not gone there yet.

  2. Sorry for the delay, I’ve been so enthused about getting my first Blog Flip right everything else has gone on ‘hold’.

For info the product that made the ‘bulb’ above my head flash was Site Rush and the one that was a total waste of time was a beautifully packaged load of crap called Project Archimedes which I won’t even link to here.

Re finding good products on Clickbank I use http://www.cbengine.com/ there’s a free and a paid version. This gives you loads more info on products than you find in Clickbank itself.

For example if it’s getting more, or less, popular over time – changes in payouts etc. + it’s a good way to check out new arrivals to the ClickBank marketplace and jump on a good product before everyone in the world is promoting it!

  3. Just sold my first freshly created blog http://spiritask.com on Sitepoint.com. Guess I should have asked for more as it was snapped up in just a few hours for the ‘Buy It Now’ price of $393. Ah well, I’ll know better next time :-)

    Details:

  4. That is one nice looking blog. You have a great template. You should have a lot of sitepoint business in the future.

Do you have a good tool to move the blog when they get a new host?

  5. I don’t believe there is a tool, as such, to transfer a blog. There are plenty of tutorials out there but it’s a bit too techy for me so I went to http://www.GetAFreelancer.com and advertised there – got dozens of offers for $30 per blog and now have someone happy to do it at $5 per.

In fact she fixed this blog for me ( originally sat at blogwam.com/members but now sits on the main domain – granted that’s easier to do as you don’t have to move the database).

  6. My first Blog Flip client, Cleve, just resold the blog I sold him for $393 (mentioned above) for a mega $845 !!! The jammy sod! (as we say in the UK). He hadn’t added any new content to it either!

My emotions are mixed. I’m happy for him and that my designs are being recognised as valuable but just wish I’d asked for more initially!

Cleve mailed me to say that he’d been ripped off on a couple of recent purchases on Sitepoint by a couple of a-holes so needed to raise some money by selling http://spiritask.com even though he’d have loved to keep it on.

    Fair play to him!
